Margo uncensored

Welcome to the new, updated, fresher, Zen version of Food For Thought.  Like the Koi fish?

I was playing with my web site today and decided it was time for a change.  Out with the old boring green stuff, in with the cool graphics.  And I rewrote my bio.  Why not?  This is America, land of reinvention. I can say whatever I want about my life, change the story dayly if I want to.  I pay lots of taxes and forgo outstanding healthcare coverage for that right.

Speaking of reinventions, last night I attended my friend Margo Toombs' 60th birthday party at the Third Coast Comedy Club.  She is a speech therapist by day, a batman fan, and she worked for over five years to put together an hour-long one woman show titled "Flight to Gizzarville, Margo uncensored."  She worked on her scripts in our writing classes at the Jung Center and she hired an improv coach and a choreographer to help her work on her routines.

She impersonated her own narcissitic colon, reminisced about her days as a flight attendant, sang, danced, and twirled a lit-up baton.  She was outstanding.  I can't think of Margo being anything else but a comedian.  She's found her calling in life.  I want to go to her next show.  And what did it matter that she'd just turned 60?  She was damn good.

And she looked good too, dancing with her black and silver batman cape.

When I grow up, I want to be fearless and alive and make up a skits about "Fifi-le-fuck" and "One-legged Juanita" just like Margo.  Thank God I have a role model.
